The Pfeifer Group will align its market presence under a unified corporate brand across the entire group, thereby strengthening the long-term development of its Finnish locations. From 1 June 2026, the production company in Finland will operate under the name Pfeifer Nordics Oy, while sales activities will be integrated into the newly established Helsinki branch of Pfeifer Timber GmbH.

With this step, Pfeifer is consolidating its international presence while highlighting the special importance of Finland for the entire group. The harmonisation of company names forms part of a clear strategic orientation and underlines the long-term commitment to the Finnish sites as a key production and competence centre within the European wood industry.

Northern Finnish pine and technological expertise as the basis for success

Logs from northern Finnish pine rank among the highest-quality raw materials of their kind worldwide. Combined with the strong technological expertise and the dedication of employees on site, this results in products that set international benchmarks. These strengths form the foundation for the future success of the entire Pfeifer Group.

Michael Pfeifer: Finland as a central pillar of the group’s development

“Finland is a central pillar of our corporate development,” says Michael Pfeifer, CEO of the Pfeifer Group. He emphasises: “The quality of northern Finnish pine, the know-how of our teams and the technological performance of our Finnish plants are crucial for our future.

With a unified corporate presence, we make this strength more clearly visible internationally and create a stable foundation for further growth.”

Long-term investments secure competitiveness

Since acquiring Pölkky in 2023, Pfeifer has made targeted investments in the Finnish sites. In Kajaani, the comprehensive modernisation has resulted in one of the most modern sawmills in Scandinavia. New sawing and drying capacities, modern equipment and integration into the European production network ensure long-term competitiveness and sustainability. These investments reflect a clear long-term perspective – beyond short-term market cycles.

Geschäftsführer Alexander Kainer

New sales structure with presence in Helsinki

Alexander Kainer, CEO of Pfeifer Nordics Oy, also highlights the significance of this development:

“Our northern Finnish plants possess exceptional expertise, and their raw material base is unique. Presenting ourselves under the unified Pfeifer brand strengthens our position in the international market and gives our teams a clear, future-oriented perspective.”

At the same time, the existing sales organisation will be integrated into the international sales structure of Pfeifer Timber GmbH. For many years, Pfeifer Timber GmbH has been responsible for the worldwide sales of the Pfeifer Group and coordinates the group’s international market activities. With its own branch in Helsinki, Pfeifer is establishing a direct presence in Finland and strengthening the connection of the Scandinavian sites to the global sales network.

Appreciation for employees and strong regional roots

For the Finnish employees, the brand integration primarily represents recognition and long-term security. The plants in Kuusamo, Kitka, Kajaani, Taivalkoski and Oulu will remain key elements of the group’s strategy. Their experience, commitment and innovative strength shape the further development of the entire group.

Pfeifer regards the Finnish sites as an integral part of its European orientation. Sustainable forestry, high-quality raw materials and modern industrial processing form the basis for long-term corporate success – in Finland and on international markets.
